CLEVELAND, OH, October 11, 2016 – OEConnection LLC (OEC), a leading technology employer in Northeast Ohio, held a groundbreaking ceremony at their 50,000 square foot Richfield headquarters today. The event celebrated the start of construction on a 20,000 square foot addition and was attended by Richfield Mayor Bobbie Beshara, lead investor Providence Equity Partners Managing Director Davis Noell, and OEC Chairman & CEO Chuck Rotuno.
The new facility will revitalize and expand the existing building in a two-phase masterplan:
Phase One includes constructing the new addition on the north side of the building, with supplemental parking. This two-story extension will house a new fitness facility and additional offices and work stations.
Phase Two of the site development plan will include remodeling the interior of the building to enhance and introduce new amenities. Featuring a new state-of-the-art, 3,000 square foot auditorium, the new plan will provide additional meeting rooms and expanded kitchen and café spaces to enrich the onsite dining experience. Additional offices are being added to accommodate company growth.
“This building expansion is a testament to OEC’s longevity, and we look forward to continuing our growth in Richfield,” said Rotuno. “Richfield has been our home since the formation of the company in 2000, and we remain committed to the community.”
“We invested in OEC earlier this year to help accelerate their growth strategy, and this expansion is certainly part of that strategy,” said Noell.
“OEC has been a great supporter and partner in the Richfield community throughout the years, and we are excited about their growth and commitment to Richfield for many more years to come,” said Mayor Beshara.
OEC’s headquarters facility currently houses approximately 275 associates and contractors and is expecting rapid growth in the coming years. The expansion will increase the capacity to 350 seats to accommodate this growth.
Aligning with OEC core values of corporate social responsibility, the new building will have environmentally sustainable features. New water bottle filling stations will be installed throughout the facility along with solar-powered heating for hot water to supplement the existing main system. In addition, LED lighting will be installed in the new expansion space, as well as in the new parking lot for increased safety.
This groundbreaking marks the second major enhancement OEC has made to its Richfield headquarters since initial construction of the facility in 2007. Construction is scheduled for completion in spring, 2017.
